Bushfire Protection Testimonials
When we built in the Adelaide Hills we accepted that the advantages of natural vegetation and wonderful views came with an increased risk from bushfires. Planning for this risk included well mown clear spaces, independent water supplies with petrol powered pumps and a Cribb Engineering Fascia Mounted Bushfire Protection System.
Although we had planned well, we were still surprised in January 2007 by the speed of approach, high winds and raw power of the Mount Bold Bushfire. Within minutes our property was surrounded by a wall of flames. Fortunately the Cribb Bushfire system only took a few second to start and to have running at full capacity before we were forced into the house for protection against the radiant heat.
Once the fire fronts had passed, we went outside to view a blackened landscape with everything charred or burning to within centimetres of our home, yet within the ring of protection provided by the Bushfire System there was no damage. The small volumes of water used by the system’s additional jets had protected the glass doors and windows from fracture while the outer ring of jets had completely stopped burning embers from causing damage within the spray curtain.
Without the Bushfire System, we are convinced that our house would have been severely damaged or lost to the fire.
